After a patient week of one elevator working for a much needed update of parts and components (apparently the elevator parts have not been replaced since the building was officially opened), residents seemed excited they were back in service. This is in building 355, which was apparently the 2nd building to go through this update (I think 210 was first).

On Day 1 after the replacement, the lobby elevator was making loud, grinding sounds that reverberated throughout the entire building. This was corrected a few days later after residents complained.   Last week at the Resident Council meeting a question was raised as to whether or not the elevator was tested or inspected before being put back in service.  The answer was “no” (except any checks by the same people who did the work).  I don’t know building code on this.  Today I received 2 messages that 2 different residents were stuck in the elevator! Could this been prevented?
