October 2009

Halloween is fast approaching and between our two campuses we have the annual haunted house at 313 Clinton Ave.  If you caught the newscast on NY1 this week (see http://ny1.com/7-brooklyn-news-content/top_stories/108030/-carnival-of-carnage–comes-to-brooklyn) you may have recognized a few of our CHAOC residents rehearsing!

Our neighbors continue to get involved in Halloween events.  Co-Op resident and owner of Still Hip, a children’s store at 283 Grand St, is hosting a Halloween block party 11am-6pm.  At 5pm, another of our dwellers adds to the holiday festivities as he and the LIG  band rocks and closes out the street party.

I’ve long had a vision of the Co-ops getting in on the neighborhood halloween festivities, maybe with a jack-o-lantern / pumpkin painting contest or childrens halloween parade… but for this year we can rub elbows – or wings, antennae, bones and other creepy costume appendages – with our neighbors out and about Clinton Hill.

happy halloween!   IMG_2452

Sorry for the last minute information… Tonight in buidling 325 starting at 7pm is the October Resident Council meeting.  With the recent run of break-ins and changes in Board members, as well as the upcoming Shareholder Meeting, this should be a worthwhile discussion.

See you there?!
